Conversion Pressure Index

We developed a 1-km resolution, global map of land conversion pressure from multiple drivers, referred to as the conversion pressure index (CPI). The CPI combines past rates of anthropogenic change, as measured by temporal human modification maps, with suitability maps for potential future expansion by large-scale development. The CPI thus offers a new way to measure a cumulative gradient of anthropogenic pressure as opposed to categorical land cover change.

本团队构建了一幅分辨率为1公里的全球土地转换压力地图，该地图综合了多种驱动因素，并称之为转换压力指数（CPI）。CPI整合了由时间序列人类改造地图测量的过去的人为变化速率，以及适用于潜在未来大规模开发的适宜性地图。因此，CPI提供了一种衡量人为压力累积梯度的新方法，而非分类土地覆盖变化。
