This book is grounded in the rapidly advancing basic scientific theories of the conservation and restoration of rare and endangered plants, especially those with extremely small wild populations. It comprehensively summarizes the recent research advances in the population biology and conservation biology of rare and endangered plants through two sections: theoretical review and practical case studies, and systematically discusses the development trends and research frontiers of conservation biology for rare and endangered plants. The theoretical review section is structured around key scientific questions, aiming to introduce the general basic theories related to the conservation of rare and endangered plants. The practical case studies section is organized around dozens of typical rare and endangered plant species or types in China that have been subject to systematic research, introducing their biological traits, habitat conditions, and ecological characteristics in as systematic and detailed a manner as possible.
