资源简介:
This study investigates the effects of continuous cropping on the soil microbiome in Panax quinquefolius (American ginseng) cultivation. Continuous cropping often leads to soil degradation and reduced crop yield, partly due to changes in the soil microbial community. We used 16S rRNA gene sequencing to analyze the bacterial community composition in the rhizosphere soil of P. quinquefolius plants grown under continuous cropping conditions for one, two, three, and four years, compared to a control plot with crop rotation. The raw sequencing data generated in this study provide insights into the microbial community shifts associated with continuous cropping and can help in developing sustainable agricultural practices to mitigate the adverse effects of continuous cropping on soil health and crop productivity.
