This research study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of OSB (Oriented Strand Board) production using wood species from the Brazilian Northeast's Caatinga: marmeleiro (Croton sonderianusMuell. Arg.), jurema-branca (Piptadenia stipulacea (Benth.) Ducke) and catanduva (PiptadeniamoniliformisBenth.) and castor-oil polyurethane bicomponent resin. The properties investigated were: density; thickness swelling and water absorption (2 hours and 24 hours); modulus of elasticity and bending strength in the parallel and perpendicular directions; internal bond and resistance to screw withdrawal from the face, according to EN standards. The results of the analysis of the physical and mechanical properties showed the possibility of manufacturing OSB with the cited species in the laboratory, according to the mean values and the variability of properties equivalent to those panels produced on industrial scale, and compared to EN standard requirements for OSB/3 and OSB/4. Variance analysis showed that OSB panels containing catanduva wood strands yielded the best results in terms of mechanical properties, as for the physical properties, the best performances were those of panels made with the marmeleiro and jurema-branca species.

本研究旨在评估采用巴西东北部卡廷加(Caatinga)地区的木材树种制备定向刨花板(OSB, Oriented Strand Board)的可行性,所选树种包括:marmeleiro(*Croton sonderianus* Muell. Arg.)、jurema-branca(*Piptadenia stipulacea* (Benth.) Ducke)以及catanduva(*Piptadenia moniliformis* Benth.),并使用蓖麻油基双组分聚氨酯树脂作为胶黏剂。本研究考察的性能指标包括:密度;厚度膨胀率与吸水率(浸泡2小时及24小时);平行及垂直方向的弹性模量与抗弯强度;内结合强度以及板面螺钉拔出力,所有测试均遵循EN标准要求。物理与力学性能的分析结果表明,基于测得的性能均值与变异程度,采用上述树种可在实验室制备出性能等效于工业化生产的定向刨花板,且其性能指标满足OSB/3与OSB/4型板材的EN标准要求。方差分析结果显示,添加catanduva木刨花的OSB板材力学性能最优;而物理性能方面,采用marmeleiro与jurema-branca树种制备的板材表现最佳。
