A cross-sectional analysis of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation treatments on YouTube

In this study, we aimed to evaluate the content, quality, and accuracy of the most viewed YouTube videos related to PIH treatment using the Dy et al. Accuracy Scale (DAS), Accuracy in Digital-Health Instrument (ANDI), and the Global Quality Scale (GQS). The data below shows the number and % of each DAS, ANDI, and GQS score sorted by healthcare and non-healthcare sources. We found that PIH treatment videos on YouTube produced by non-healthcare sources were less accurate and of lower quality, but received significantly more views than those produced by healthcare sources.

本研究旨在采用Dy等人准确率量表（Dy et al. Accuracy Scale, DAS）、数字健康准确率工具（Accuracy in Digital-Health Instrument, ANDI）与全球质量量表（Global Quality Scale, GQS），对与PIH治疗相关的YouTube高播放量视频的内容、质量及准确性进行评估。下文数据按医疗健康来源与非医疗健康来源分类，展示了各DAS、ANDI及GQS评分的数量与占比。研究结果显示，非医疗健康来源发布的YouTube平台PIH治疗相关视频，虽准确性更差、质量更低，但播放量显著高于医疗健康来源发布的对应视频。
