UKCP09 spatially coherent climate projections

All information on the UKCP09 SCPs is © Crown Copyright 2009.<b><br></b>In the framework of the UKCP09 project (Murphy et al., 2009), an 11-member data ensemble was created using 11 variants of a climate model (RCM) called HadRM3, based on the medium (A1B) emission scenario with data produced on a daily time scale at a 25 km spatial resolution (Sexton et al., 2010). The spatially coherent projections (SCPs) of the ensemble were designed to be used for trend analysis as the RCM provides continuous projections for the 1950-2100 period. The SCPs used in this study explore an even wider range of climate change than the GCM-driven RCM projections of the UKCP09 but still include 11 equally plausible projections of future climate conditions (Sexton et al., 2010).
