Contraceptive use in Meghalaya India FY 2016 by method

About 22 percent of married women used some method of modern contraception across the state of Meghalaya in India in financial year 2016. Contraceptive pills was the most common method in this region at around 12 percent. The government had taken several measures to encourage the increase in awareness, availability and usage of modern contraceptives. This included Mission Parivar Vikas initiative, which focused on family planning in 146 high fertility districts across seven states in the country.
