Simultaneous profiling of bacterial and fungal communities in the earthworm (Eisenia fetida) gut microbiome in response to fungal pathogen challenge via 16S and ITS amplicon sequencing

This project investigates the complex inter-kingdom interactions within the earthworm gut microbiome under stress from a fungal pathogen. We simultaneously characterized both the bacterial (by targeting the 16S rRNA gene) and fungal (by targeting the ITS region) communities via amplicon sequencing. The dataset includes raw sequences from gut content samples of Eisenia fetida challenged with fungal pathogen compared to untreated controls.
