The Texts of BnF fr. 24432: A cumulative, work-in-progress digital edition by Sebastian Dows-Miller

This is an archived version of a work-in-progress digital edition of Paris, Bibliothèque nationale de France, fr. 24432, a mid-fourteenth-century Parisian manuscript comprising 87 French texts written by some eleven scribes. The manuscript is interesting for its palaeographic, codicological, and textual complexity, and yet has received minimal attention from scholarship. The edition draws on a full TEI-XML encoding of the manuscript prepared during my doctoral research; although the encoding is not yet fully complete for all texts, many components are ready for use by scholarship. Guided by the principle that incomplete data may still be valuable, this project makes the current state of all the materials publicly available in TEI-XML, CSV, and TXT formats, alongside an HTML web viewer for texts which are closer to completion. By releasing these evolving data, the project aims to support ongoing scholarship and raise the profile of this fascinating manuscript.
