TPL Chesapeake Bay Watershed Community Assessment

<p>To show where parks and greenspace could drive the most systemic change in health, climate and equity outcomes and economic opportunity in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, the Trust for Public Land (TPL) scored urban towns and cities (all incorporated and Census-designated places that lie within any Census-designated urban area) based on a suite of metrics including city-level health, climate, park access and economics. The resulting Chesapeake Bay Watershed Community Assessment presents data on these criteria for over 1,300 towns and cities (based on towns and cities analyzed in ParkServe®). TPL equally weighted the goals and criteria and generated scores between 0-1 for each of the towns/cities. The final scores ranged from 0.20-0.73. For map visualization purposes, TPL created a 1-5 index (5 being the highest priority for pilot roadmap selection) based on the 0.20-0.73 scores.</p>
