This dataset is primarily developed for research on all-optical format conversion. It primarily simulates the all-optical format conversion functionality based on nonlinear effects for star-shaped 8QAM signals in elastic optical networks (EONs). The data is derived from computational simulations, including the relationship between the output power of a Mach-Zehnder Interferometer (MZI) and input power, phase shift, and attenuation; constellation diagrams, phase histograms, and amplitude histograms of the input star-shaped 8QAM and output QPSK signals; error vector magnitude (EVM) and bit error rate (BER) of the input star-shaped 8QAM signals, deaggregated QPSK and OOK signals, and reaggregated star-shaped 8QAM signals under different input optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) conditions; constellation diagrams of star-shaped 8QAM signals with distinct power ratios for their inner and outer rings, which are generated by aggregating QPSK and OOK signals at varying power ratios; and the EVM and BER of such star-shaped 8QAM signals with different power ratios for their inner and outer constellation rings. The total size of this dataset is 6.63 MB.
