This dataset contains global dust observations used for model evaluation in the associated study. It includes: - Dust surface concentration: Compiled from Table S2 of Mahowald et al. (2009) (DOI: 10.1146/annurev.marine.010908.163727). - Dust total deposition: Compiled from Table S2 of Albani et al. (2014) (DOI: 10.1002/2013MS000279). These data were used to validate the LMDzORINCA model simulations of the global dust cycle in the submitted manuscript "Vegetation effects redistribute dust globally".
