Uncovering depth and spatial patterns of soil eDNA in arid regions

Soil samples were collected at different soil depths and at increasing distances across four distinct habitat types from southeastern Arizona, USA. We investigated the patterns of animal, plant, fungal, protist, and algal eDNA in soil to identify indicators suitable for soil provenance analysis.
