Spatial dataset for Sogod Bay

Spatial data layers on: (1) the administrative boundaries for (a) barangays, (b) municipalities, and (c) municipal waters in the study region in Sogod Bay, Philippines; (2) the distribution of coastal habitats derived from a remote sensing analysis using WorldView-2 images and underwater video transects; and (3) the location of (a) current marine protected areas (MPAs) and (b) prospective MPA sites identified and supported by coastal communities, (c) new MPAs identified through a national-scale and donor-assisted conservation project that utilized local knowledge to select MPAs, and (d) new MPA sites selected through a systematic conservation planning approach that employed the spatial prioritization software ‘Marxan with Zones’ to achieve biodiversity objectives with minimal and equitable costs to fisher stakeholder groups. This dataset was used to investigate alternative planning options for designing a MPA network in Sogod Bay in Southern Leyte province in the Philippines. The study region encompassed the coastal waters of the municipality of Pintuyan, San Francisco, Liloan, Padre Burgos, and Limasawa.

本数据集包含三类空间数据图层：（1）菲律宾索戈德湾（Sogod Bay）研究区域内的行政区划边界图层，分别对应（a）描笼涯（barangays）、（b）市镇（municipalities）及（c）市镇管辖海域（municipal waters）；（2）依托WorldView-2卫星影像与水下视频样带开展遥感分析所获取的海岸生境分布图层；（3）四类海洋保护区点位的空间位置图层：（a）现有海洋保护区（marine protected areas, MPAs）、（b）由沿海社区认定并支持的候选海洋保护区点位、（c）依托本土知识遴选、由全国性捐助资助的保护项目确定的新增海洋保护区点位，以及（d）采用空间优先规划软件'Marxan with Zones'，以在实现生物多样性保护目标的同时，将渔业利益相关群体的成本降至最低且保障成本公平分配的系统性保护规划方法筛选出的新增海洋保护区点位。本数据集被用于探究菲律宾南莱特省（Southern Leyte province）索戈德湾海洋保护区网络规划的备选方案。本次研究区域涵盖平图扬（Pintuyan）、圣弗朗西斯科（San Francisco）、利洛安（Liloan）、帕德雷布尔戈斯（Padre Burgos）及利马萨瓦（Limasawa）等市镇的沿海水域。
