In this study, we integrated and analyzed new and existing sound recordings from the northern Bering and southern Chukchi Seas to provide data on marine mammal presence and noise levels for this area. Sound recordings collected in numerous biologically important and poorly studied areas were analyzed to determine marine mammal presence through the detection of their vocalizations. These recordings, made throughout the year were collected from different acoustic monitoring projects at strategic locations, such as the Bering Strait and Anadyr Strait, west of St. Lawrence Island. The resulting data from previous deployments (spanning 5 years), as well as strategic new deployments, constituted an important baseline from which were assessed for both ambient noise (natural and anthropogenic) and biological patterns, and allowed us to anticipate future impacts associated with increasing shipping, resource extraction and climate change. Data are presented as two CSV files: NPRB1511_Deployments_metadata.csv NPRB1511_Marine_Mammal_detections_metadata.csv Result figures from study calculations are included in folders corresponding to month of data collection. This dataset was generated as part of NPRB project 1511

本数据集以两个CSV格式文件呈现:NPRB1511_Deployments_metadata.csv、NPRB1511_Marine_Mammal_detections_metadata.csv。
