Using a novel fate-mapping approach, we identified that resident intestinal CD103 expressing T-cells lack secondary expansion potential and are replaced by de novo formed cells during re-infection. mRNA profiles of small intestine lamina propria transferred INTEGRA CD8 T cells that either express CD103 and the stable fluorescent marker zsGreen (DP) or that do not express CD103 or zsGreen (DN). The cells were sampled without reinfection, day 2 and day 8 after either VSV-OVA or VSV-wt reinfection.
