Digital Archive from an Archaeological Evaluation at Days Garage, Forsethlyn and Main Road, Broomfield, Essex, February 2017

This collection comprises image, text, spreadsheet and CAD data from an Archaeological Evaluation at Days Garage, Forsethlyn and the rear of 76-98 Main Road, Broomfield, Essex. The work was undertaken by Archaeology South-East in February 2017. The nine trench evaluation was carried out between 7th and 9th February 2017 in advance of residential development. The site lies between a nationally significant Saxon burial mound 500 metres to the east and a Roman road along the sites western side. A small number of 19th or 20th century postholes and pits and a 19th century quarry pit were uncovered. No other significant archaeological deposits, features or finds were recorded in the evaluation.
