This dataset contains simulation results evaluating CAST-SF (Coordinated Spreading-Factor Scheduling and Gateway Load Balancing) for dense LoRaWAN deployments. The dataset includes 2,160 simulation runs across 108 configurations, comparing CAST-SF against three baseline approaches: standard Adaptive Data Rate (ADR), gateway diversity, and LoRaCode. Simulation Setup Simulator: ns-3 LoRaWAN module Path-loss model: WINNER II suburban macro with 6 dB log-normal shadowing Regional parameters: EU868 band (125 kHz channel bandwidth, coding rate 4/5, transmit power 14 dBm) Statistical rigor: 20 independent simulation seeds per configuration with 95% confidence intervals Deployment Scenarios Urban: 1.5 km² grid, 300 Class-A devices, 3-5 gateways at 30 m height Rural: 25 km² area, 120 devices, 2-4 gateways Campus: 0.5 km² area, 42 devices, 2-4 gateways Traffic Loads Light: 300 s inter-arrival time (Poisson process) Medium: 60 s inter-arrival time Heavy: 30 s inter-arrival time Performance Metrics Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) with 95% confidence intervals Average latency (milliseconds) Gateway load imbalance (coefficient of variation) Duty-cycle compliance (device and gateway airtime) Energy per delivered packet Fairness index (Jain's fairness index on per-device PDR)
