Summary data generated for the "Beyond mtDNA copy number: The regulatory architecture of mitochondrial DNA gene expression" paper. The following files are provided: gtex_mtcn_v_ge_results_05052026.txt: association results between mtDNA gene expression and mtDNA copy number in whole blood from the GTEx dataset. Columns are as follows: gene: Ensembl gene ID Estimate: estimate of the beta coefficient SE: standard error of the beta coefficient tissue: tissue in which the test was carried out t.stat: t-statistic P.value: two-sided p-value model: model is either "reduced" or "full" where the latter is reduced + ePCs df.resid: residual degrees of freedom chi2: chi-square statistic of the test tissue_label: readable tissue label mage_mtcn_v_ge_results_01102026.txt: association results between mtDNA gene expression and mtDNA copy number in LCLs from the MAGE dataset. gene:Ensembl gene ID Estimate: estimate of the beta coefficient SE: standard error of the beta coefficient t.stat: t-statistic P.value: two-sided p-value model: model is either "reduced" or "full" where the latter is reduced + ePCs df.resid: residual degrees of freedom chi2: chi-square statistic of the test gene.type: gene can either be protein-coding, lncRNA, or pseudogene gtex_pmtcn_v_ge_results_01132026.txt: association results between mtDNA gene expression and predicted mtDNA copy number (pmtCN) in GTEx. Columns are the same as in 1. mage_pmtcn_v_ge_results_05272026.txt: association results between mtDNA gene expression and pmtCN in MAGE. Columns are: variable: gene ID. rep: bootstrap replicate b: beta coefficient tx_id: transcript ID symbol: HGNC symbol of gene tissue: tissue in which the effects were estimated. This is either "Blood" or "LCL. se: standard error of b z: z-score, i.e. b/se x2: chi square statistic, i.e. z^2 p: two-sided p-value exp.p: expected p-value under the null, i.e. uniform distribution. tqtl_all_05222026.parquet: trans-QTL association results for mtDNA gene expression measured in LCLs from the MAGE dataset. Data are in parquet format. Columns are: variant_id: variant id in CHR:POS:REF:ALT format. gene: phenotype name, i.e. name of gene, for which trans-eqtl analysis was carried out pval: p-value of the association chr: chromosome number pos: GRch38 position ref: reference allele alt: alternate allele
