When interspecific crossing is done in Capsicum plants, we often observe abnormal growth in the F1 plants. On the other hand, the growth failure does not be observed in some cultivars. It is expected that it is the two nuclear and cytoplasmic genes that control incompatibility. We aim to identify two genes that control incompatibility of interspecific hybrids of Capsicum plants and cytoplasmic genes that overcome incompatibility.
