In our group we had five members: Farkhanda, Reema, Olivia, Ratiba and Huda. The data was collected in the york univesrity field area near by the buses stand at the woodlands and grassland. This was done on the Wednesday 23rd, 2015 at 4:00 pm. The temperature was hot that day and there was construction noise, birds noise, busses noise, small insect noise, sunny , cloudy but no air. Also there were many trees in the woodlots and lots of grass and different kind of plants in grass land. Most of the grassland was dead due to change of weather. Some of the plants were dead (for e.g. goldren rod) , and some were colourfull plants (for e.g purple astar). The goal was to collect the plant species, height, distance, number of leaves and number of flowers and crowded patch (0=open, 1=some plants nearby, 2=quiet a few plants, 3=very crowded bunch of plantswithin 50 cm). The equipments are: two measuring transect tape, quadrat, pen, and paper. The experiment was carried out by us choosing which species of plants available to take measurement for. So we decided to choose the golden rod plants because they were lots of them. We split into two groups and one group meausred the height and distance between the plants and other group counted the number of leaves, flowers, and crowd patch of the plants (0=open, 1=some plants nearby, 2=quiet a few plants, 3=very crowded bunch of plantswithin 50 cm). At the end of the measurement and counting we shared our data in the group members.
本研究小组共计5名成员,分别为Farkhanda、Reema、Olivia、Ratiba与Huda。本数据集的采集工作开展于约克大学(York University)校园周边区域,具体位于毗邻公交站点的林地与草地片区。采集时间为2015年6月23日(周三)下午4时。当日天气炎热,存在施工噪音、鸟类鸣啼声、公交车辆噪声与小型昆虫鸣响,天气晴转阴且无气流(即无风)。该区域林地内林木茂密,草地则生长着大量草本植物与多样的植物物种;受天气变化影响,大部分草地出现枯黄枯死现象。部分植物出现枯死情况,例如一枝黄花(Goldenrod);另有部分植物色彩艳丽,例如紫菀(Purple Aster)。本次采集的目标参数包括植物物种、植株高度、植株间距、叶片数量、花朵数量,以及植株聚集度(0代表开阔无紧邻植株,1代表周边存在少量植株,2代表周边存在相当数量的植株,3代表50厘米范围内植株极为密集)。实验器材包括两条测量样带(measuring transect tape)、样方框(quadrat)、钢笔及纸张。实验由小组成员自主选定待测量的现有植物物种,最终选定一枝黄花作为测量对象,因其分布数量较多。随后小组分为两组:一组负责测量植株高度与植株间距,另一组则统计叶片数量、花朵数量及植株聚集度(0=开阔无紧邻植株,1=周边存在少量植株,2=周边存在相当数量的植株,3代表50厘米范围内植株极为密集)。测量与统计工作完成后,小组成员间共享并整合全部采集数据。
