VPRS 18301 Patient Admission and Ward Movement Cards [J Ward]

This series comprises of patient admission and ward movement cards [J Ward]. J Ward houses clients deemed criminally insane and operates within the Ararat Asylum (VA 2841).The only cards contained in this series are for surnames commencing B-L only. It is not known if these are the only extant cards that exist.The index cards recorded details including patient name, age, religion and marital status, date admitted, time admitted and section (of the institution), transfers from ward to ward, important points from clinical records, immunization or treatment undergone and addresses of relatives.Other information may include if the client was epileptic, suicidal, dangerous, destructive or an absconder.
