North Aegean Bathing Waters - May 2026

Monitoring of bathing water quality is carried out in accordance with the provisions of Directive 2006/7/EC, which has been transposed into Greek legislation by Joint Ministerial Decision No. H.P. 8600/416/E103/2009 (Government Gazette 356/B/26-2-2009).The objective of this monitoring is to protect the marine environment and the public health of bathers.The monitored bathing beaches include those attracting a significant number of bathers, as well as beaches of particular interest from any perspective (developmental, aesthetic, tourism, etc.). On these monitored beaches, sampling and analysis are conducted to monitor microbiological quality in line with the Joint Ministerial Decision requirements, alongside visual observations to assess the physicochemical quality of the bathing waters.The Directorate of Waters of the North Aegean implements the bathing water monitoring program for the islands of the North Aegean Region. These specific outcomes concern the results of the analyses for May 2026.
