Raw Interval-Level Field Observations of Ochlerotatus caspius Activity around Sunset in Northern Italy, 2025–2026

This dataset contains the interval-level field observations underlying the study entitled “Temporal Redistribution of Ochlerotatus caspius Activity Following a Solar Eclipse at Sunset: Comparative Field Observations from Northern Italy.” The dataset contains capture counts of Ochlerotatus caspius recorded during four consecutive 20-minute intervals after sunset across six site-date observations. Four observations were conducted in 2025 as contextual reference observations, and two paired observations were conducted at Valmadonna, northern Italy, on 12 and 13 August 2026. The dataset includes raw interval-specific capture counts together with observation dates, sites, observation type, elapsed time after sunset, recorded clock times where available, temperature where recorded, site elevation, and location information. Observation-level totals and interval-specific proportions are provided as derived variables to facilitate verification of the analyses and tables reported in the associated manuscript. The primary analysis consisted of descriptive calculations of interval-specific counts, totals, proportions, absolute differences, and percentage-point differences. No custom computational code was used. This dataset is intended to provide the underlying observations necessary to inspect and reproduce the descriptive analyses reported in the associated manuscript.
