Ejaculate quality traits, body mass, combined testis mass and basal metabolic rate for all species examined, collected from the literature (see References file). D=sperm quality traits were measured in samples from dissected specimens rather than ejaculates; (D)=only some of the traits were measured in dissected specimens; *=Combined testis mass was calculated from testicular dimensions or testis volume following: CTM = 1.166 * L * W * W, where L and W are the mean length and width, respectively, of the two testes;
**=BMR was converted either from kcal/d (assuming 1L O2 = 4.839 kcal) or from kJ/d (assuming 1L O2 = 20.083 kJ)

本数据集包含所有受试物种的精液品质性状、体质量、睾丸总质量与基础代谢率（basal metabolic rate, BMR），所有数据均采集自公开文献（详见参考文献文件）。
各标注说明如下：
- 标注D：精液品质性状通过解剖标本样本而非射精样本进行测定；
- 标注(D)：仅部分性状通过解剖标本样本完成测定；
- 标注*：睾丸总质量（combined testis mass, CTM）按照下述公式由睾丸尺寸或睾丸体积计算得出：CTM = 1.166 × L × W × W，其中L与W分别为双侧睾丸的平均长度与宽度；
- 标注**：基础代谢率（BMR）可通过千卡/日（假定1升氧气=4.839千卡）或千焦/日（假定1升氧气=20.083千焦）转换得到。
