THE PROGRESS AND EDUCATION IN HISTORY OF SINOP - MATO GROSSO: "IT'S GOOD TO EXPAND BORDERS OF OUR FATHERLAND”

Abstract This article brings up the intertwining of progress’ speech and the Sinop education in the State of Mato Grosso, between the years of 1973 and 1979. The speech of widespread progress by the Federal Government was taken over by the Settlers, by migrants and by the school, which in its practices exemplified and expressed all developmental values of the time. The theoretical basis is on the contributions of Michel de Certeau and the empirical research was conducted from the procedures of Oral History with interviews with ex-teachers, as well as documents, magazines, Iconographies, located in private and public piles.
