Permits for newly constructed residential real estate in Belgium, by type 1996-2022

The number of building permits issued for new residential real estate in Belgium was very evenly distributed between apartments and single-family homes in 2022. Each of those segments had nearly 26,000 permits issued. Overall, 2018 was the year with the highest amount of housing construction projects authorized at over 51,600 units.
