Photographs of zooplankton species during several POLARSTERN cruises and one John Biscoe cruise to the Southern Ocean

During several expeditions to the Southern Ocean (JB03, ANT-V/3, ANT-VII/3, ANT-X/3, ANT-XIV/2, ANT-XVIII/5b and ANT-XXII/2) photographs of copepod and other zooplankton species from net samples were taken. The specimens were either identified in live samples onboard or later in the lab in formalin preserved samples which is also noted in the metadata. Live specimens were caught with Bongo nets, while preserved specimens were caught with a multinet. Photographs were taken through the ocular of the stereo microscope. No scale is provided, but a link to the respective WoRMS species page where sizes for adults can be found. If available a link to the corresponding dataset on species abundances during the cruises is provided.

本数据集基于多次南大洋考察航次（JB03、ANT-V/3、ANT-VII/3、ANT-X/3、ANT-XIV/2、ANT-XVIII/5b及ANT-XXII/2）的采样工作，对网采获得的浮游桡足类及其他浮游动物样本拍摄了相关影像。样本的物种鉴定分为两种场景：一是在航次现场对活体样本完成鉴定，二是后续在实验室对福尔马林固定的保存样本开展鉴定，相关细节均已在元数据中注明。活体样本采用邦戈网（Bongo nets）采集，而保存样本则通过多分层采样网（multinet）获取。影像通过体视显微镜的目镜拍摄得到。本数据集未提供测量标尺，但可通过链接访问对应物种的世界海洋物种登记册（WoRMS, World Register of Marine Species）页面，以查询成体个体的尺寸信息。若有可用数据，还将提供航次期间物种丰度对应数据集的访问链接。
