Microbial composition of water, sediment, and soil in different sampling sites of the Old Course of Yellow River (Shangqiu Section) at the genus level

Water samples, sediment samples, and soil samples were collected from 4 sampling sites (A-Fanzhuang Village, C-Linqi Reservoir, D-Forest Park, F-Liuyang Village) along the Old Course of Yellow River (Shangqiu Section). For each sampling site, 1 water sample, 1 sediment sample and 9 soil samples were collected in triplicate. Within each soil site, 3 sampling points were taken at distributed straight-line distances of 10 m (s10), 50 m (s50) and 100 m (s100) from the riverbank. Around each point, 3 random soil sub-samples were collected using a plastic spoon from the corresponding depths (cm) of 0–20 (top), 20–40 (middle), and 40–60 (bottom).
