A standard method of testing E. coli's ability to form biofilm is based on the analysis of morphologyof bacterial colonies grown on yeast extract/casamino acids (YESCA) nutrient agar medium containing congored (CR) as an indicator dye of ECM production. The CR dye adsorbed from the culture medium bybacteria binds to the components of the ECM, including curli and cellulose, giving the bacterial colonies adark red color.
The dataset contains original photos of bacterial colonies of the following E. coli strains: IH11128, DR14, CFT073, AAEC191A/pCC90 and AAEC191A/pACYC184. Bacteria were cultured on a YESCA medium at 25 degrees Celsius for 5 days. Pictures of the colonies were taken at intervals of one day.
检测大肠杆菌(E. coli)形成生物被膜(biofilm)能力的标准方法,依托对生长于添加刚果红(Congo Red,CR)作为细胞外基质(Extracellular Matrix,ECM)生成指示剂的酵母提取物/酪蛋白氨基酸(YESCA)营养琼脂培养基的细菌菌落形态开展分析。刚果红染料可经细菌从培养基中吸附,并结合细胞外基质的组分(包括卷曲菌毛与纤维素),使细菌菌落呈现深红色。
本数据集包含以下大肠杆菌菌株的菌落原始照片:IH11128、DR14、CFT073、AAEC191A/pCC90及AAEC191A/pACYC184。所有菌株均于25摄氏度条件下在YESCA培养基中培养5天,随后以每日一次的间隔拍摄菌落照片。
