Microbiome of Sewer Biofilm Metagenome

Sewer biofilm samples were collected under simulated conditions from PVC and concrete surfaces. The biofilms were submitted to a bleach disinfection treatment. Samples were collected before and after the disinfection to determine the effect of the disinfectant on the prokaryote community. Some samples were treated with propidium monoazide (PMA) to discriminate between living and dead cells, and extracellular DNA. Sample ID code 1 or 3: Biofilm reactor fed with either sewer sediment and synthetic wastewater (1) or fed with wastewater (3) C or P: surface, plastic (P) or Concrete (C) 0 or 10: exposure time to the bleach treatment in minutes + or - : treated or untreated with PMA
