Three paired pollen and phytolith samples were selected for analysis to
test preservation at 41CC112. Analysis of these samples was undertaken to
provide data that could contribute to interpretation of paleoenvironmental
conditions and economic studies at this site, located within the Stacy Reservoir
Project in Concho County, Texas. Presence and abundance of economically useful
plants or families of plants was sought. In addition, pollen recovered from
these samples provides information concerning general local and regional
vegetation. The phytolith samples are examined for evidence of tall versus short
grasses and their contribution to an interpretation of paleoenvironmental
conditions.
本研究选取三组配对的花粉(pollen)与植硅体(phytolith)样本开展分析,以检验41CC112遗址的遗存保存状况。本次样本分析旨在获取相关数据,为该遗址的古环境条件解读与经济考古研究提供支撑;该遗址位于得克萨斯州康乔县的斯泰西水库项目区域内。研究目标之一为统计具有经济价值的植物或植物科属的存在情况与丰度。此外,从样本中提取的花粉可反映研究区域及周边的局地与区域整体植被状况。同时,本研究将对植硅体样本进行分析,以甄别长秆禾草与短秆禾草的相关遗存证据,并为古环境条件的解读提供依据。
