Metatranscriptome analysis of paddy microbiome for identification of lead strains contributing to enhanced growth and yield

The advent of precision agriculture (PA) has shown enhanced yield in agricultural crops globally. However, one of the key areas that have been constantly neglected in PA is the microbiome, the most important candidature for improving plant growth and yield. An understanding of the naturally occurring microbes and the associated transcripts is essential as they influence the quality and the quantity of agricultural crops. Hence, the current study will attempt to address this gap by understanding the metatranscriptome of microbial communities associated with different parts of the paddy plant (soil, root endosphere, leaf endosphere).
