Yarrow Point Transmissometer Deployed 2019-10-01

The WET Labs CSTAR Transmissometer 1483PR was deployed on 2019-10-01 at Yarrow Point. Yarrow Point is located in the Saanich Inlet, north of Coles Bay. This device is a Transmissometer. Transmissometers measure the transmission of light through seawater. Parallel rays of light in a spectral band are emitted from a source towards a light detector a set distance away. The fraction of light received is converted into a beam attenuation coefficient. It was deployed on a profiling platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 2.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.
