Parkes observations for project P511 semester 2007APRS

We request continuing timing and monitoring observations of 7 rotating radio transients. These sources are rotating neutron stars which are detectable only through their sporadic radio bursts. The observations proposed here are crucial for understanding the emission mechanism of these sources and for determining how they relate to other neutron star populations. Through monthly observations, we aim to maintain the phase-connected timing solutions achieved during the last observing semester, further contrain burst flux distributions and spectral indices, and search for any new and unexpected bursting and/or glitching phenomena. These observations are the cornerstone of an extensive campaign at X-ray, radio and infrared wavelengths.

我们申请对7颗旋转射电暂现源（rotating radio transients）开展持续计时与监测观测。此类源均为旋转中子星（neutron star），仅能通过其间歇性射电暴被探测到。本次申请的观测对于理解此类源的辐射机制、明确其与其他中子星族群的关联至关重要。通过每月开展的观测，我们旨在维持上一观测季所获得的相位关联计时解，进一步约束射电暴的流量分布与谱指数，并搜寻任何全新且未被预见过的射电暴及/或自转突变现象。此类观测是X射线、射电与红外波段多波段综合观测计划的核心基石。
