To investigate the sediment provenance of Late Quaternary loess-paleosols and the environmental changes they recorded in the northeastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, samples including loess, paleosols, aeolian sand and other related sediments were collected across a large spatial range of the study area from 2012 to 2016. In addition, loess profile samples were collected in September 2013 at the Breeding Sheep Farm (ZYC) on the eastern shore of Qinghai Lake, and in August 2019 at Gangcha County (GC) and Reshui Village (RS) on the northern shore of Qinghai Lake.
