The following data collected during the pedagogical experiment at the Jagiellonian University in the academic year 2023/2024 were analysed from the article: Participant characteristics: 103 participants in the pre-test and 82 in the post-test 102 females and 1 male 44% had a master's or doctoral degree Born between 1996 and 2003 Mean age: 35 years (standard deviation: 5.04 years) Employment status: 59% were studying full-time, 25% were working full-time, 8% were working part-time Research tools - an online survey (MS Forms) was conducted including: (a) A mapping tool of new media use styles, consisting of 12 statements on topics including: Securing devices Storing files in the cloud Using private mode Searching for information Verifying the reliability of information Communicate online Creating and editing multimedia content b) A proprietary tool measuring video tutorial creation skills, covering 5 areas: Taking video screenshots Creating digital tutorials Explaining the use of an office suite Uploading large video files over the internet Uploading videos to YouTube Data were collected from October 2023 to June 2024. Participants rated their skills on a 5-point Likert scale, where 1 meant ‘not at all true in my case’ and 5 meant ‘very true in my case’. The internal consistency of the tools was 0.911 and 0.834, respectively.
