Leclercia adecarboxylata, a member of theEnterobacteriaceae family, is a motile, aerobic, omnipresentGram-negative bacterium. Infections by L. adecarboxylata inhumans are scarcely reported, being considered an opportunisticpathogen.This strain was first described andnamed Escherichia adecarboxylata by Leclerc (1962), and,later received the generic name Leclercia from Tamura et al.,(1986). It was phenotypically differentiated by biochemicaland DNA hybridization assays from other Enterobacteriaceaespecies
