Dormant Bank Account Block

This study employs Artificial Intelligence (AI) for a detailed analysis of public sentiment and emotion regarding a specific government policy in Indonesia. Focusing on a YouTube video discussion about dormant bank account regulations from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), the research utilizes AI to process a large volume of comments (3028 total), providing a quantitative and qualitative understanding of public reaction. The methodology involves a multi-stage approach, starting with a word cloud to identify key themes, followed by topic modelling to cluster related discussions. Sentiment analysis using a heatmap further delineates positive and negative viewpoints, while a POMS (Profile of Mood States) model provides a granular emotional breakdown. The findings reveal a predominantly negative public sentiment. The word cloud highlights dominant keywords like \pemerintah,\ \rakyat,\ and \koruptor,\ indicating a deep-seated frustration with political leadership and a perception of injustice. Topic modeling further elaborates on these themes, showing clusters focused on Hotman Paris's critique, the policy's perceived impact on the unemployed, and a widespread public distrust of officials. The POMS analysis confirms this, showing that a significant majority of comments are categorized as \Depression\ and \Confusion,\ with a minimal presence of positive emotions. The research concludes that the public\u2019s strong reaction is not merely against a specific regulation but reflects broader anxieties about economic welfare, government integrity, and social justice. This study demonstrates the power of AI as a tool to gauge public mood and inform policymakers on the societal implications of their decisions.
