Cladonia rangiferina Transcriptome or Gene expression

This project aims to characterize the transcriptome of a non-model organism, Cladonia rangiferina. Sequences from wet lichen were obtained by both next-generation sequencing and Sanger sequencing. The Roche GS FLX platform was used for the next-generation sequencing. The sequences were de novo assembled and annotated using several different databases to get a holistic view of the lichen transcriptome. The lichen sample was collected from nature, not cultured, and has no assigned strain.
