A culture-independent survey of bacterial and fungal assemblages in the Grey Luvic Phaeozem under undisturbed birch forest in the forest-steppe zone in the south of West Siberia (48°16' N, 135°02' E) was conducted using the 16S rRNA gene (V3-V4) and ITS (ITS3_KYO2-ITS4) amplicon sequencing with Illumina MiSeq. Soil samples were taken in July 2017 from the genetic horizons in triplicates, which were individually analyzed.
