Characterization of Adults for Asthma Microbiome Research Studies Baseline Stool Samples. CAARS is a prospective observational cohort study of adults with and without asthma, who participate in two baseline study visits to extensively characterize asthma and allergic symptoms. Subjects undergo lung function testing, assessment of asthma control and related symptoms, and complete multiple questionnaires. Samples collected include stool, induced sputum, and oral wash for microbiota analysis.
