Images from an Archaeological Strip Map, Sample, and Watching Brief on the Land at Piccadily Farm, Stadhampton, Oxfordshire, August 2016 and September 2017

This collection comprises images from an archaeological strip map, sample, and watching brief on the land at Piccadilly Farm, Stadhampton, Oxfordshire. This work was undertaken by Groundworks Archaeology in August 2016 and September 2017. The watching brief did not identify any archaeological features. The strip map and sample identified a modern gulley, four post holes (at least one of which is modern), and two ditches of 12th to early 13th century AD which were both dated by stratified pottery. These features may be related to a medieval or early post-medieval paved surface which has been previously recorded 40 metres north of the proposed site.
