Endeavour North Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler 75 kHz Deployed 2012-06-19

The RDI Workhorse Long Ranger ADCP 75 kHz (16511) was deployed on 2012-06-19 at Endeavour North. This north section of the Endeavour Hydrothermal Vents includes two moorings to monitor the regional circulation. This device is a Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler 75 kHz. Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCP) are hydroacoustic instruments, similar to sonars. ADCPs measure current speed and direction at multiple predetermined depths simultaneously. ADCPs use the Doppler effect of sound waves that are scattered by particles in seawater over a depth range. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 2.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.

RDI Workhorse Long Ranger型75kHz声学多普勒海流剖面仪（Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler，ADCP，编号16511）于2012年6月19日布放于恩迪沃夫北区。恩迪沃夫热液喷口区的该北部区域设有两套锚系观测潜标，用于监测区域环流状况。该设备为75kHz声学多普勒海流剖面仪（ADCP），声学多普勒海流剖面仪（ADCP）是一类与声呐原理相似的水声探测仪器，可同时测量多个预设深度处的海流流速与流向。ADCP通过声波在海水颗粒物散射时产生的多普勒效应，在指定深度范围内开展海流观测。本次布放的设备搭载于固定平台之上。此次布放获取的观测数据已完成归档，并通过加拿大海洋网络的Oceans 2.0数字基础设施对外公开，其数据质量控制及衍生数据产品均遵循既定行业规范。
