The topographic data of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the Tianshan Mountains was produced by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). The 30-meter Digital Elevation Model (DEM) of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and the Tianshan Mountains (2006-2011) records ground elevation information, and is an important raw data for research and analysis of topography, river basins, and feature recognition. It has been widely applied in national economic sectors such as surveying and mapping, hydrology, meteorology, geomorphology, geology, soil science, and engineering construction, as well as humanities and natural science fields. For flood prevention and disaster mitigation, DEM serves as the foundation for hydrological analyses including watershed analysis, drainage network analysis, rainfall analysis, flood storage calculation, and inundation analysis. Meanwhile, DEM data can reflect local topographic features at a specified resolution. A large amount of surface morphology information can be extracted from DEM, which can be used to generate contour maps, elevation maps, slope maps, aspect maps, river system maps, stereo perspective views, and three-dimensional landscape maps, and is also applied in the production of orthophotos, three-dimensional terrain models, and map revision. This dataset has a horizontal resolution of 30 meters (1 arcsecond) and an elevation accuracy of 5 meters, making it one of the most accurate topographic datasets globally at present.
