More is Always Better? Investigating QoS and Energy Efficiency in 5G Campus Networks - Dataset

Energy Efficiency in 5G Campus Networks This dataset contains the measurements of a large parameter study on 5G NR in the University of Wuerzburg 5G campus network. Results are provided in a processed and per-run aggregated form of a tabular .parquet file: all_runs.parquet, as well as raw measurements artefacts, provided in the MoreIsAlwaysBetter.tar.lz4 archive. The measurements have been conducted with our custom automation framework (https://github.com/lsinfo3/5G-Campus-Testbed-Automation), which also includes the processing scripts to generate the .parquet file. Scope of Study and Content Apart from the traffic type specific KPIs, channel quality indicators (e.g. SNR, RSRP, MCS, etc.) from modem and gNB, modem and gNB energy consumption as well as energy consumption correlates for the gNB software implementation (e.g. CPU instructions, cache misses, etc.) are recorded. A full factorial measurement approach to the parameters listed below was performed with the SIMCom SIM8200EA-M2 modem.
