Salivary microbiota in a patient with glycogenosis

This analysis provides the oral microflora of a child with glycogen storage disease type I who developed baby bottle tooth decay in early childhood from frequent nocturnal bottle feeding. This child had a severely limited consumption of carbohydrates such as sucrose, glucose, and fructose. For this analysis, saliva samples were collected from this child at the ages of 3 and 9.By 9 years of age, the child was weaned and the caries-affected anterior teeth had fallen out.
