Transcriptome analysis of root-lesion nematode resistance in chickpea. Cicer arietinum

Root-lesion nematode (RLN; Pratylenchus thornei) is one of the major plant-parasitic nematode species causing significant yield losses in chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) growing areas world-wide. In order to identify key genes and pathways underlying the mechanisms of resistance to RLN in chickpea the root transcriptome of control and infected roots of three chickpea genotypes was studied using RNA-Seq approach.
