Civic and social organizations are those classified under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 8134. According to the NAICS website (US Census Bureau 2019), code 8134 “comprises establishments primarily engaged in promoting the civic and social interests of their members.” Examples include veterans’ associations, ethnic associations, fraternities and sororities, and social clubs.
