Estimating Varroa destructor mode of genetic inheritance. Varroa destructor

This project aims to investigate genetic inheritance in Varroa destructor, a parasitic mite of honeybees, that causes global colony collapses by transmitting deadly viruses. For that, we constructed a three-generational pedigree and sequenced individual mites genomes. The BioProject contains a total of 223 varroa mites genomes, belonging to 30 families. The mites were obtained from 3 honey bee colonies (Apis mellifera), between July and October 2020, in Okinawa, Japan. Each mite family contains at least: foundress female mite, her son and daughter, and at least one grandchild (male/female).
